Elements of a Magical Fifth Birthday Party
03/31/12
We decorated.
We ate pretzel wands (candy chocolate dipped and white chocolate tipped with star sprinkles) and popcorn.
We made magical woodland wands from sticks, ribbons and sparkly pipe cleaners (inspired by this post).
We made table decorations and party favors of magical potions that shimmered and sparkled inspired by this tutorial.
We watched an incredible magic show led by Mr. Dave and Donatello which concluded as his balloon creations come to life.
Magic fifth birthday parties are a fantastic tradition in our family but web searches for inspiration turned up an enormous amount of capes and red bow ties. Not exactly girly. I spotted a few glittery accents and before I knew it, our party was planning itself with a little more woodland whimsy than top hat. The house was packed with kids at full attention. And we tried a few home made ice cream recipes and I even made a cake.
