Field Trip: Geometric Art Canvases at the GAP, Georgetown
08/11/12
I read about crafting with Mer Mag at GAP Kids for Shine on Saturdays at Handmade Charlotte. Shine on Saturdays is a series of craft workshops over the next few weeks in GAP stores across the nation. The Washington, DC/Georgetown hotspot was close enough – and a great reason to stop by during the 30% off sale!

This Saturday was Geometric Art. The GAP generously provides all the materials which included 12 x 12″ canvases, masking tape help, and a (washable) paint bar. The staff was very sweet and patient. My little girls loved their help and enthusiasm. This is an easy project to do at home. I think it’s especially suitable for kids that like to stay in the lines and have a bit of focus. More photos here.
The next two events will feature Journal Making and Animal Character Badges(!). I might have to go back for that last one. It sounds like an unbelievably cute affair.
Be sure to visit the visually stunning and inspiring MerMag blog for more details.
